What is UltraSlim and how does it work?
UltraSlim® is a unique prescription-only medical device to painlessly reduce fat and tighten skin without surgery or downtime. And UltraSlim® is the only non-invasive FDA-cleared medical device that achieves immediate fat loss – and it safely achieves the most fat loss (40 times more than Coolsculpting®).
How does UltraSlim actually work on fat cells?
The unique medical light used by UltraSlim® is available with no other device. UltraSlim® triggers a photochemical reaction in the mitochondria of the fat cells called "Photonic Lipolysis". The patented UltraSlim® mechanism of action delivers a unique, high-powered red light, which is absorbed by the chromophores of the mitochondria (cytochrome c oxidase), causing the adipocyte to respond as if it was a time of famine. The fat cell's membrane is disrupted, resulting in temporary pores which allow the fat to escape. UltraSlim® is able to achieve reduction of subcutaneous and visceral fat while increasing collagen and elastin production in the skin cells. As a result, we see tighter, younger looking skin combined with dramatic fat reduction. By altering the exposure dosage in Luminous Flux Minutes, we are able to achieve specific results for multiple indications for use. To avoid confusion, patients are asked not to modify their diet or exercise. Instead, patients are asked to be on time for all treatment sessions, drink 2 to 4 liters of water daily, and use a compression garment during the course of treatment and for two weeks thereafter - until the fat "hardens".
The UltraSlim® device utilizes a patented, high-powered, non-laser light to induce photonic lipolysis in adipocytes. This light is absorbed by mitochondrial chromophores (cytochrome c oxidase), triggering a cellular response that mimics a state of famine. The fat cell's membrane becomes temporarily porous, allowing for the release of triglycerides as non-esterified fatty acids (NEFAs) and glycerol. This process also stimulates the secretion of leptin, adiponectin/Acrp30, and interleukin-6, leading to a reduction in the overall volume of the adipocyte. Concurrently, the targeted light exposure stimulates skin cells to produce more collagen and elastin, resulting in tighter, younger looking skin and localized fat reduction.
Alesis OSA1 utilizes the photonic energy of a unique, high-powered light. This light energy is absorbed by specific components within fat cells (adipocytes). This process signals the fat cells to temporarily open pores in their membranes, allowing stored fat to escape naturally. The fat is drained, effectively reducing the fat deposit size, while the cell itself remains unharmed. The procedure is quick, safe, and permanent, involving no discomfort or downtime for the patient. It builds on technology with 11 years of FDA clearance and no reported side effects or adverse outcomes.
Is UltraSlim the same as laser liposuction or cavitation?
No. Liposuction is a surgical procedure by which a surgeon removes excess fat using a "cannula" inserted under the skin to suck out the fat cells. With laser liposuction, a laser in a cannula is first inserted under the skin to cause laser lipolysis and soften the fat tissue immediately prior to sucking out the fat tissue. Cavitation is a method of killing fat cells with ultrasound energy. With surgery or using energy to destroy the fat cells, there are potential side effects such as dysmorphic unnatural fat accumulations. UltraSlim® safely drains and permanently shrinks the fat tissue without destroying or removing the fat cells.
Does UltraSlim require surgery, needles, or anesthesia?
No. UltraSlim® is a 100% touchless procedure that uses only a special type of medical light.
Does the UltraSlim® treatment hurt? What does it feel like?
No. The procedure is very pleasant and relaxing, typically elevating skin temperature by less than 2° Fahrenheit.
When will I see results after an UltraSlim® session?
Immediately. Patients lose an average of 3.5" around their waist, hips, and thighs cumulatively and 1,580cc of fat during the 32-minute treatment.
How many treatments will I need to see noticeable results using UltraSlim®?
Results are apparent with every treatment.
What areas of the body can UltraSlim® treat (abdomen, hips, arms, etc.)?
UltraSlim® can treat the skin anywhere. but it should never be applied to the eyes.
Can UltraSlim® help with cellulite or skin tightening as well as fat loss?
Yes, as shown in the before and after photos.
How much fat/inches can I expect to lose per session using UltraSlim®?
Each person's body is different, but the average loss is 3.5" and 1,580cc of fat.
Is UltraSlim® FDA-cleared or medically approved?
FDA "approves" medications and "clears" medical devices. UltraSlim® is an FDA-cleared prescription-only medical device.
Does UltraSlim® cause any side effects or risks ?
No.
What does it mean that the UltraSlim® device is "Risk Group 1"?
Risk Group 1 is the very safest category of medical devices. Like a tongue depressor, the patient cannot be harmed is UltraSlim® is used as directed.
Are there any people who should not have UltraSlim® treatment?
Yes. UltraSlim® is not recommended for those who are pregnant, have certain light sensitivity conditions, or have active cancer in the area to be treated.
Does UltraSlim® cause skin redness, irritation, or bruising?
No.
Is UltraSlim® permanent fat loss or temporary?
Permanent. Once you flush the toilet, the fat cell contents that were released with UltraSlim® are gone forever.
Can fat come back after the UltraSlim® treatment?
It is a fact of life that when we overeat, we gain fat. No device prevents you from overeating in the future or gaining fat from overeating.
Do I need to diet or exercise to maintain results from the UltraSlim® treatment?
Exercise and a sensible diet are always important for health and wellness. If you maintain a calorie-neutral lifestyle, you will not gain fat.
Is UltraSlim® better than CoolSculpting, liposuction, cavitation, or other non-invasive options?
Absolutely. Patients lose 1,580cc of fat in 32 minutes with no discomfort, downtime, or side-effects. Three weeks after Coolsculpting, patients lose 39.6cc of fat – UltraSlim® removes 40 times as much fat and does so immediately and with no side-effect. Covitation is similarly delayed in outcomes and with side-effects and much less fat loss. UltraSlim® is clearly superior to all other noninvasive options. Liposuction is a generally safe surgery that is typically performed by a board-certified plastic or cosmetic surgeon and involves some degree of downtime and discomfort. UltraSlim® is safer and treats more of the body, but liposuction remains the gold standard for body contouring and is not comparable to noninvasive devices.
How long is each UltraSlim® treatment session?
32 minutes, with 8 minutes for the front, back, left, and right.
Is there any recovery time or downtime after the UltraSlim® treatment?
There is none.
Why didn't I see results from my UltraSlim® treatment?
If you lost less than 2" from your wait, hips, and thighs combined, then your body's response is an outlier and treatment should be discontinued. Over 98% of all patients lose at least 2".
Do before/after measurements reflect real fat loss or just circumference change in the UltraSlim® treatment?
Your measurements get smaller because your fat cells have released the oils and fatty acids that were trapped inside. Within a few days, the liberated fat cell contents will be voided from your body as waste and you will note corresponding weight loss as well as fat reduction in body size.
Are people combining other methods (diet, exercise, supplements) to improve results of the UltraSlim® treatment?
Yes, that certainly helps, but the company does not recommend that you change your diet or exercise while you are being treated with UltraSlim®. That makes it easier to assess how effective UltraSlim(s) is for you.
Do UltraSlim® results vary by body type, age, or metabolism?
Yes. Each body is different. As we age, our metabolic rate slows, making it harder to lose fat. As for body type, if a patient has low-density "jiggly" fat, they may lose up to 10" at one treatment. If the patient has hard, high-density fat, their inch loss may be closer to 2". Certified UltraSlim® Technicians are trained to evaluate your body type and fat density when developing a personal care plan for each patient.
